There is a cost involved in birthing out of nothing a vibrant healthy new church plant. There are at least three participating parties that must be willing to count the cost when it comes to sponsoring a new church. Who is it that must count the cost and pay the price towards starting a new vibrant ministry? Well the church planter must pay the price, the sponsoring church must be willing to pay the price and finally the people who participate early in the new work must pay the price in order for a new church plant to become successful. The Partnering Churches Price towards the Sponsoring of a New Church Sponsoring a new church is a worthy endeavor for any healthy New Testament Church! Remember, anything worthwhile has a cost involved. A sponsoring church will make five incredible investments into the sponsoring of a new work: 1. Resources Perhaps the biggest investment any sponsoring church can make is that of allowing the new church to tap its resources. No I am not thinking money, yet! What I am referring to is when a sponsoring church allows the church planter to reach into the existing church and develop meaningful relationships for the purpose of allowing God to raise up key members that would branch out and assist in birthing the new work. It is an amazing thing when God moves through a sponsoring church and energizes its membership towards the cause of church planting. It is even more amazing when the leader of the sponsoring church understands that it is a “God thing” and joyfully allows such action... -Click here for whole document-
